On March 2, a significant and informative meeting took place with the Ukrainian delegation in the U.S., featuring Lia Nodwin from William Keating’s office. Nodwin, an expert in energy and environmental issues, highlighted the importance of Ukraine’s reform progress and anti-corruption efforts as crucial indicators for American policymakers.
The discussion covered several key areas including anti-corruption measures, medical reforms, land reforms, and the overall reform process in Ukraine. Roman Bochvala, a military correspondent, public activist, and founder of the “Stop Corruption” NGO, actively participated in the dialogue. Bochvala noted that while land and energy reforms are perceived as supported by the United States, they remain unclear to many ordinary Ukrainians.
Through productive communication, the delegates and the congressman’s office reached a consensus that for effective funding of crucial development programs in Ukraine, high-quality analysis and accurate information must be provided to Washington. Only after such steps will hearings and active project work be conducted.
